Well, they're bigger on the inside, to start us off. Any size you like, but large enough to carry a city inside. Not that I'd try - well, no, having a city wouldn't be too bad. Having the people would be irksome. But all that Artron energy... [Artron junkie? Yes, yes indeed]

How does it do that, desu? And it's alive, you said? So it's like a plant...? And what is Artron, Master? Does that help it grow...?

Artron is a psionic-temporal energy form from which thought and perception are formed, the stuff of history itself. It's resistant to the effects of the Vortex, and thus is the primary energy source of a TARDIS. [licks his lower lip unconsciously] It's also contained in the blood of Time Lords. It does help a TARDIS grow.

[yes, Master, you totally lost her there] The Vortex...? Um, b-but it helps a TARDIS, then? Will I need it to help grow you a TARDIS, Master? [notices him lick his lip and quirks a brow, but doesn't say anything] Only Time Lords have it? So maybe the Doctor or you can help, desu?

The TARDIS travels through the Vortex. I don't know if it's necessary, but proximity to it would be quite beneficial. The Doctor and I should be able to provide it with as much Artron as it needs.
